Peach Hill Park is open every day from sunrise to sunset!


Peach Hill Park is a great place to hike and picnic.  In the winter our trails are great for snow shoeing and cross country skiing.  However we no longer allow bikes due to trail erosion and safety issues.


Upcoming events:

Earth Day pollinator garden planting and prep -- Friday, April 22, 4-7pm

We will be tilling and raking the weeds to plant wildflower seeds on one plot and we will solarize another plot to seed next Fall!

Bring rakes, pick axes, tillers, gloves and a strong earth spirit!

Are you looking for volunteer opportunities and enjoy spending time outdoors?  The Friends of Peach Hill are looking for volunteers to help with trail maintenance and line trimming at the park.  We are also looking for individuals who are interested in serving on the board of directors of Friends of Peach Hill.  Please contact us at if you are interested in getting involved!

At 485 feet the summit of Peach Hill is the highest point in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

What is Peach Hill Park?

Peach Hill Park offers walking trails through a former apple orchard, leading to spectacular views in all directions. The 159-acre passive-use and open-space park is jointly managed by the Friends of Peach Hill and the Town of Poughkeepsie Recreation Department. It is located off Salt Point Turnpike in the Town of Poughkeepsie. 

What to see and do on Peach Hill

  • Walk on 3.5 miles of hiking trails. Five different trails explore diverse habitats and ecology, wetlands, traditional agriculture, geology and local history.
  • Enjoy scenic views of the Hudson Valley, the Catskills,
    and the Taconic Hills.
  • Birdwatching.
  • Find some of the hidden geocaches. 
  • Walk your dog.
  • Enjoy the apple blossoms in the spring,
    and pick the apples in the fall.
  • Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter
