Peach Hill Park would not exist without the work of dedicated volunteers. In only a few years these volunteers have accomplished a lot:

  • Helped raise public and governmental support for acquiring the park
  • Raised money and solicited grants to fund the purchase, development and operation of the park
  • Solicited input into future development
  • Built trails, overlooks and picnic areas
  • Removed accumulated debris
  • Run public programs to introduce the park to others
  • Pruned apple trees
  • Improved habitat
  • Solicited donations to support the ongoing costs of park maintenance

The volunteers are organized as the Friends of Peach Hill Park. A ten-member Board of Directors, elected annually by the friends, works with the Town of Poughkeepsie Recreation Department on the day-to-day management of the park.
